The Unchaining of Burdens

by Poet on the Piano   Jul 1, 2011

.

You've drowned the pain
A million times
And I forget why
I have echoed screams
Of my own forgetfulness.

Harming skin
Marked with dark desperation
I cover my true self,
Yearning to understand
How you keep laying
At my doorstep,
While I spin lies
To let the spirit inside
Sleep in addiction.

Quit the act
Stop self-starvation,
I reflect your word.

And when I turn away
You hold onto me
Tighter
Pulling me back up
To face a day
Where I don't have to be
The sinful monster I've craved.

You see me
Without the bloody traces.
And I offer you all My One God.
I owe you much more.
