A Cold Breeze

A cold breeze rushes past me,
sending chills down my spine,
feeling a presence,
thinking that I'm alone,
but feeling someone watching me,
knowing that someone else is here with me.

The lights flicker on & off,
the TV channels changing,
i hear giggling up in the attic,
footsteps running down the stairs,
items moving from there original spots,
thinking am i imagining this,
or is it really happening.

Hello i say,
is anybody there,
the hair on the back of my neck stands up,
my arm tingles,
feeling a hand grab my arm forcefully,
pushing me against the wall,
hearing no you're not alone,
this has always been our home.

Speechless,
she tries to calm down her heartbeat,
closes her eyes,
takes a deep breath,
and says how long have you been gone for,
100 years he replies,
walking away she doesn't care there here,
as long as her mind can stay in peace.

A cold breeze rushes past me,

now knowing someone else is here,
sharing the house,
lost spirits not able to find there way back.
