Grace

by Captain Lonesome   Nov 25, 2011

If God was not right here by my side
Evil and sin would keep me bound and tied
Through all of the agony, turmoil, discomfort and pain
The storm passes, thunder crashes with lightning and rain

I may feel at times that I am on my own
But the truth is that I am never alone
I have been protected and blessed in so many ways
Even though I've taken it for granted many days

The word does not lie, it is true
It holds me together like glue
The word will never fail
And it will always prevail

Sins in our pasts make our hearts heavy and unsure
Temptations are constantly lurking trying to lure
Though we stumble, fall, and break promises made
Through Gods grace, Jesus' blood, our debt is paid

This life is temporary but the life we have in you
and my love for you is forever, thank you God!

Wow! this is such a beautifully written poem! It is so deep and the meaning behind each stanza is so true, pure and full of wisdom.
I love how you talk about not being alone when at times it feels that way and how we take for granted the protection and support we have. Without that we wouldnt even be breathing today... Each day we live is a miracle that we need to appreciate yet we are so consumed by the world and busy in work, study and so on that makes us forget how lucky we are to be God's children...
