Ex Power

by Sunshine   Nov 25, 2011

If you breathe beneath my roots
I may lose a fruit off my branches
within the milliseconds it takes for
you to let go your sip of air...
Ex tremely emotional

Don't try to to talk me into stepping
outside my rainbow garden tonight for a
cup of coffee on your unpainted porch-
coffee was never my cup of tea...anyway!
Ex tremely thoughtful

I like trying new things outside my bubble,
but not when I'm about to ex plode with
my inner longings and suppressed fears
there under the cap of a champagne bottle,
Ex...plosive

So I'll just invite you over. Or not.

Very different and very interesting! Each line I must say paints vivid images and I also like the use of words as well as the flow of the poem. Simply well written!

    EX cellent, nana!
I was really EX cited to read the piece.
It felt so... EX quisitely awesome with your never ending vivid metaphors, and your way of writing.

oh my, my, my.. what a way.

"coffee was never my cup of tea...anyway!"

^ I was like, damn it. This is... so originally penned.

I thought the first stanza was ehhh... good by all means.

    But the second,, LOOOVE.

And the third: WOAHHHHH! Klashikov, dear!!

I like trying new things outside my bubble,

^ It's a great summing up to what you have somehow pointed your fingers at. Your EX was not of your thang' but you tried to try'em? mm.. great imagery.

but not when I'm about to ex plode with
my inner longings and suppressed fears
there under the cap of a champagne bottle,

^ I love this image too. The pressure inside a champagne bottle because of compression is immense! And playing on such an image feels great.

    Ex...plosive

^ ALL those EX's just emphasize your tone, as if you want to grab his attention again, and the overuse of EX words assures that. !!!
the play on them is great.

    EX tremely EX cellent!! :)

    nominated, no bet.
