Memories

Memories, forever laid in Yesterday's bosom,
Why? Only there, can it blossom:
Yesterday, yesterday, yesterday -
The gravestone in which it decays,

Dreams - buried as memories that never lived,
But what sweet scents and sights it gives!
But yet, it burns in the sun, and disappear,
Just when you thought it was so near,

And the memories which did live and sigh?
They too, will one day vanish and die.
But why do I complain?
When Fortune have dressed me in robes of riches
And sheltered me from pain.
