Against the Tide

by PAUL HEWSON   Apr 18, 2012

Against the tide i swim and swirl in waters that drown.
My breath is on hold as i am being sucked down
Tides of tears and wasted waves of grief
its the sound of the sea that i use to find sleep

On to the shore i stroll , not knowing where to go
Blue heavens above can see i have taken enough
But my time is not now i must swim, not drown
Be stong and so brave keep away from the grave

Against your love i must fight , morning till first light
pictures in dreams of you and all the things that you do
A wash of tears i am , barely resembling a man
Against the tide i must swim , For one day your heart i will win ..
