Even My Mind Can't Reason

My eyes see no rain
but I hear the slow monotone
pushing me
to the confines of my mind.

I have to realize I have no thoughts
that have an easy exit-
every phrase that echoes
is like an intricate heartbeat
I cannot follow.

It's as if I'm past the point
of any comprehension......
the only image that blooms
when I close the heat from my eyes
is a world outside of this world
consisting of nothing
but oxygen satin days;
where would you be
if you fell willingly
into dream's sleep?

Would I finally be able
to look at you and not have to say
what's needs not be explained?

And then, we would make no sounds,
we would only live in dreams
of sun's cascade
and the light showers of sky-blue liquid.

Would we then, at last,
reach the highest peace
that existence can't even begin
to promise us?

Maybe I'll never know,
as long as my heart is shuffling forward
and the world asks what barely
requires me to breathe.

But I can dream without fear,
without the daggers of reality.

I have a chance,
this time I won't let go of my hero.

Written on Friday, April 20th in my speech class, everyone was exhausted and I just gave up to dreaming :) Thanks for reading

    ^^ By far, this was my favorite line out of the whole poem. That was excellent and I doubt anyone can say that doesnt relate to them. We all have been through this and I am going through this right now...sooo many thoughts in my head and there is not one easy way out of them...

    This was absolutely phenomenal. I am so happy I read this, I've been trying to write all day and have come up with nothing because all these thoughts are in my head and I don't know how to write them down and I feel like you did that for me...

    I don't know why I totally loved this piece, but its getting my nomination vote...well done!

    Wow love this piece. From the title to the very last punctuation..

    Breath-taking. Really well-penned. Sometimes we don't see things, but we feel them. We hear them, but do not understand.

    So beautiful.. It's like the feeling of loss and emptiness. Something no one can really understand, or perhaps, something that has no reason..

    Really amazing lines. Everyone seems to want an explanation now.

    The rest is perfect. I think I don't need to break down this mind-blowing piece. Really awesome. Can't even find the right words to tell you how I feel right now. This deserves more than a 5/5 Keep writing!!
