Failure

by Paul Gondwe   Jun 2, 2012

Laugh now, cry later
and smile always
knowing my spear scribbles
proverbs and similes to
uplift your souls

My paper is one big torch
and my pen is the clicker
embracing the dark, since
its through the dark I ever
find light

I convince myself to be strong
yet I embrace failure like
a lost prodigal son, dining with it
while hope stares from outside the
window, tears in her eyes

She cries and screams
but her voice is too faint for
me to hear, and so she sees nothing
else to do but take her very life

Failure is deceitful and wicked,
it smiles, knowing it has devoured
another soul as I open my heart,
letting it reside deep within me

Take a plate!!! or a fork... and zing it at the window!! you Gota let hope in, before she takes her own life and is unable to save you. Dont open your heart to that devil of failure sitting across from you!
    Dont do it!!

I imagined in great detail the scenery of this poem. This might be my favorite now!!

Failure damages the strength within a person and to overcome it needs extreme courage but some just can't cope with it...its sad to see things like this and reading this stirs an image of silent screams for help that is gone unheard..touching write..

I don't think we truly fail, it might seem like that, but perhaps only those who fail are those who truly give up. If we "fail" per se, and we stay like that without learning from it and trying again then I guess we failed. Otherwise, we didn't, no matter how many times we make the mistakes, we didn't failed if we kept going.

    Inspirational piece, Paul.
