Christ's passion

Christ's passion.

What was it that you suffered on that day Lord, to the Cross you did go.
We try to understand but we truly don't know.
*I don't believe it was the physical pain you bore,
It was that but much more!
Your sighs were heard by the Father above,
his beloved Son, the object of his love.
It was not the pain Jesus did fear, all our sins were placed upon him, separation from God was near.
He who knew no sin became a Serpent hanging on a tree, the just for the unjust, a ransom to set the sinner free!
An unspeakable gift for the entire world to see.
As death drew near, his life was ebbing away, he still
had more to say.
He honored his Mother, Mary; he gave her to the care of another.
What were the voices he heard in his ear, much mocking and despair.
Darkness covered the land that day; Jesus knew his death was close, but only he could give up the Ghost.
Then the moment came, the Father turned away, denying his Son, the one who bore his name.
A great quake shook everyone, the Roman soldier proclaimed; "Truly, this was God's Son".
Death could not hold him, for the Father's will he did do, A defeated Satan, to hell he did go.
Gave hope to this world with all it's woe, I see it, do you know?

*It is my belief that when the Father turned away from his son, the gravity of that event was equal to spending an Eternity in hell, Jesus knew this well, on his knees in the Garden he fell.
The bitter cup he did not want to take, but his Father's will he did not forsake.
What he suffered we cannot in our flesh understand.
His cry; "My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?", speaks volumes to me.
God's spotless Lamb, truly an unspeakable gift, how could one not love him?
Consider this; God's word says that while we were his enemies, Christ died for us.

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. Romans 5:10 NASB.
