Grandma Angelina

Grandma Angelina, a poem.

She is Mom to Lil & me, and the family.
We never heard her complain, her family came first,
even when she was in pain.
Her talent in the kitchen was something to behold,
when food hit the table, it never had a chance to get cold.
The desert that always caught my eye, was her special ricotta pie.
For her mother she did care, though it was difficult,
she did not despair.
The care of her Mom fulfilled the Lord's word, the honor of father and mother she had heard.
She was 96 on her last birthday, Jesus said to her;
fear not Ang, I'm here to stay!
Our beloved Mom left this world on one past Sunday,
into the loving arms of Jesus, she went to stay.
She left us words of scripture to keep us sound,
to assure us, that in heaven, she would be found!
Now in sorrow our hearts do sway, praise the Lord,
*She left this earth on resurrection day!

*My wife's mom died on Sunday, April 15, 2012

I dedicate this poem to the honor of her, my special
Italian mother-in-law.
