Through the Rubble

by Poet on the Piano   Oct 25, 2012

When a person tells you that life is unrewarding, forget them.
Takes those words out of your memory and watch how people live.

Do they take happiness like a dreaded daily pill
or do they seem to shine in its glory?
Look for yourselves.
Don't trust others' deliverance of life
when you have barely begun blooming yourself
onto its bureau.

When someone tells you that life is short, believe but remember,
a life can last centuries, if you keep faith

I never knew....

Cities fell, skies bombarded, bridges demanded
pathways from us.
We were young.
But we remember, there is a path to living with hearts held
high,
gloriously believing in life through the rubble.

*wrote this August 31, 2012 I think as a story excerpt? I don't really remember just had it saved on a document.

Knowing the truth, is living right. Indeed beautifully worded.
