Samhain

by Maple Tree   Oct 28, 2012

Dancing fingers raised in flight,

as harvest moon begins tonight,

gathering at our spirits resting

giving thanks, a dark winters blessing.

Autumn passes, with a single fallen leaf

granting hope, ridding souls of grief,

embracing our rituals, we praise the moon,

bonfires circled, hand in hand, we sing our tune.

Just beautiful...I love how you wrote this...
I understand that Samhain is a Gaelic festival celebrating the end of harvest and start of winter...the whole celebration...such a joyous occassion...beautiful.
As always...amazing...brought a different scenery than whats in front of me...gorgeous

Marvellous! I loved the simplicity of choosing your words. The most beautiful expression is this 'Autumn passes, with a single fallen leaf', I like the word 'single'. Great write.
