Peppermint Passion (Double Senryu)

by Hannah Lizette   Dec 11, 2012

Peppermint kisses
linger beneath mistletoes,
tingle my lips with hope.

Kaleidoscope lights
flash inside azure eyes,
new passion simmers.

I like the dreamy way you included peppermint with kisses. It reminds me of a winter-wonder candy land! 5/5

This is lovely, Hannah. I remember reading this, and I'm glad it won.

I really like "kaleidoscope lights" - it's such a nice way to write of christmas lights, or that's what I picture, at least.

    "new passion simmers"

shows how the season really is magical. It brings people together, whether they've been apart or not, it brings them closer. It's really beautiful. Well done!

Love this, it seems very holiday-ish in a totally non-cheesy way, which I liked. I loved stanzas equally but I sort of felt like they were two different pieces, just my opinion though!

    5/5 Great job!
