Echoing

by Jump from Life   Jan 17, 2013

I hear your footsteps
echo on the wet pavement
slowly walking away,
solidifying my entombment.

With my blood on the ground
and my heart in your hand,
I welcome the darkness
with the dark shrouded band.

I look down upon myself
laying helpless on the cold
cement, unmoving and stiff,
I only wish I could have a handhold.

I wish I had a handhold,
to help me survive
but thats not in the plans
and there's no chance to revive.

This screams out to me, abandoment, like someone has killed you and then left you for dead. Which could be taken for what it is, or it could relate to the emotional state of mind it can feel like when someone leaves you.

    Either way, very powerful write.
