Thorn

by Poet on the Piano   Feb 22, 2013

Helpless yet striving to be held
within the palms of a man who
will breathe her in.

Every warm trace of flesh is
evanescent ---
only blood will seep into her
if she decides to cut her way
out of these vines as epidemic as
a jungle that can't stop from
harming

Pain, like an immediate block
to any solutions, as she becomes
more weary though this cold is
what she's always nestled into

Will a man return to take the guilt
off her breasts and touch
the tiniest part of spring she thought
had asphyxiated?

For these warrior winds and these
towers often overpower her until she
can't be uncovered anymore.
