The Linking Of Two Souls

by -Choke-On-MY-Halo-   Nov 3, 2013

Candle light illuminated a radiant glow
Giving life to the unknown
She was waiting for her runaway bride
But with the help of God
She wished desperately to tie the knot

Minutes felt like hours
&hours felt like days
Still praying her bride would walk through the door
With every creek in the floor to every sound of a door knob
Turning she hoped&wished her partner coming home

Adjusting her crown
Smoothing her gown
That's the only thing that would show
Of her endless doubts filling her head
Constantly praying day&night
Suddenly a whisper caught her ears
Then her sight became blurred with falling tears

Closing her eyes feeling the burning sensation of her cries
The whispers that was said she thought was filled with lies
Trying to convince her to let her bride go
Saying she is gone now her heart beats slow
She's never coming back all that's left is disaster
But she can't believe these lies
Now her heart is beating faster

Denial causes her composure to break
Falling to the ground she tries to hide
Voices grow louder than crescendo down
Her beloved walks like a queen towards her
Wearing the smile she wore on the day they met
Awe is all around the small church
People too stunned&the bride too happy
The wedding would now commence

The priest holding God's word at the tip of his tongue was so
Overjoyed that he skipped a line in his speech of holy matrimony all that mattered
Was the bonding of two souls to become one
"Do you take this woman and swear to be there
Even when you turn old
Loving each other through body and mind
Giving each other your undivided attention
And forever together through thick and thin?"

In a chorus they said "I do"
The priest said "I now pronounce you wed"
The two queens kissed passionately
The crowd erupted of joy&cheers
Years later the two queens
Looked at each other&smiled
For they had ruled side by side
For half and eternity happily

They never forgot that one day
Where the Queen of Hearts scared the
Queen of Spades silly but in the end
All was good&they lived happily ever after
Together
