Joys of Life

by Mortal Utopia   Jul 18, 2014

You smiled and told me you've found the joys of life
As you walked on - gracefully.
And I couldn't help smiling with you
As I silently imagined that there were no past, no future,
Just the present: the frame in which the two of us were happy.

But as you walked away, your back faced towards me,
I wondered
If your eyes were now filled with tears,
I wondered
If your smile which opened my heart - petal by petal -
Was make-believe.

You stopped. You looked back. You smiled.
And I grinned widely, a little awkwardly, but happily,
With you in this moment - which I gladly named Eternity.
