Widow of Hearts

by -Choke-On-MY-Halo-   Nov 6, 2014

You don't have to listen
You don't have to read
To the things I'm going to say

Long ago two girls fell in love
Rose petals fell around them
Innocence was bliss
& so was this rainbow rush

Growing up together
Laughing at dark jokes
Doing things that united them more

One took one road
And another took another
One girl fell in love with many
One stayed loyal to her childhood friend

Amelia was the name of the first girl
Onyx was the name of the second girl

Things like nature stayed & went away
Amelia lived & died for love
Foolish love but Death didn't care one way or another
Onyx cried for months
Wishing to God for help to heal a broken heart

Deep inside Amelia had married Onyx
Her heart & soul the fiber of her being
To be a widow of the heart
Is no small thing to overlook
Whether they did marry or not
Doesn't matter as the stamp of "widow"
Marked their souls for life

I'm a widow in my heart
This is my story
Don't judge me for who I loved
Judge me for what I am and what I'm not
But it's your job to know who I am and who...
Is the widow that buried her heart
