Madness

by Brenda   Feb 29, 2016

My heart aches
from my madness
only a release
will end my torment
-
the pills
in my hand
caressing me so
-
the razor's edge
slides ever so silkily
across my skin
-
my fingers itch
for the touch
of a gun
I ache to feel
that cold steel
-
positively coming alive
with the
thought of it
impossible to escape
the irony of it all
-
wishing it would stop
so tired of the
fight
that continuous
tug of war
for my mind...

This is an extremely powerful piece; I know many have felt that tug of war before, and for some it's a constant tug of war, and I sympathize with that. Looking forward to reading more from you! (:

I've felt that tug of war before... you win that fight
when you let the demons fall flat on their face and choose to breathe another day.

You really do dig deep within your poetry... very powerful.
