Full empty

I feel emptiness inside.
It consumes me
...it tastes like the darkest of nights
...I cant comprehend.
...I feel empty.

I feel emptiness inside.
it burns
like hot pepper smeared on wounded tongue.

I feel emptiness inside.
my soul is empty
as be a haunted deserted forest
where only naked silence rings.

I feel emptiness inside.
...emptiness
that I've tried to fill with all
sorts of addictions;
whiskey,music,love,
and even "malarkey poems".

...but I still feel empty.
...emptiness that devours
all my ephemeral fills
...likening them all to dentures.

    An 'empty' write here that's dripping in sadness.
    It's funny - when we feel like this, nothing can fill the metaphorical hole, can it?

    "and even 'malarkey' poems" - great line that really carries a punch.

    Moa, as always a great piece with so much emotion in it.

    When one feels empty it can feel unbearable and definitely as you describes but when we get to a point of 'no return' from emptiness it can feel as though there's no going back.. No one for us, no one we can trust etc but we can with strength and I know one day you will no longer feel empty. I have faith in you. :)

    I like the imagery that the emptiness holds a darkness that no one else will understand and you metaphors are wonderful.

    This is my fave stanza because as humans we will try and fill our emptiness with other things, even if they aren't right for us.
