My Little Hands

by CJ Maleney   Mar 13, 2017

My little hands are neither remarkable or impressive and nothing draws an eye to said appendage of my limbs

My little hands are multiply sacred, notched, burned, bashed and bruised, however they have done amazing little things.

My little hands have held new born life
My little hands have held weapons of death
My little hands have held those I love close
My little hands have Repealed those I despise

My little hands have created pain
My little hands have created art
My little hands have bound the wounded
My little hands have been often wounded

My little hands have hushed bad dreams
My little hands have stifled screams
My little hands have shook with anger
My little hands have shook with fear

My little hands touch my lovers hair
My little hands have taken her there
My little hands touch her cheek as I kiss her lips
My little hands have pinned her hips

My little hands type these words
My little hands have trembled at writing many
My little hands have created sorry
My little hands have clapped with joy

My little hands are multiply sacred, burned, bashed, bruised, however they have done amazing little things

Craig, this really was superb. Hands go through some stuff don't they. I smiled throughout this.

I had so much more to say on this but I lost my train of thought!

It one I wrote years ago and lost but it's also one I have lodged in my head although I'm not sure I have it all the right way round now
