Here we go

It seems like Here we go again
Forgetting trust and love were just pretend..
I almost started believing it myself...
And i had dusted my heart off the shelf

For a second there I convinced myself it was real....
That from life, a future i could steal...
That happiness could shower me with attention...
Forgetting to account for karma's intervention....

If you stopped when the race was there for the taking....
No one to blame the fall was my own making...
And There's no use of acting pretentious...
 If your actions once betrayed your intentions...

There was no time to hear "I'm sorry."
Not a happy ending to another chapter in my story...
I bet it all on love and lost on a straight flush
And the Only thing left was my heart crushed...

    I love the power in these last two lines and the write as a whole is sad, but honestly told and well written.
