My Pendant Cross

by Mark   Oct 25, 2017

This morning I was questioned about a golden cross pendant
Dangling from a silver laced chain loosely necked
Querying a decorative jewel or symbolic trinket?
I meditated, gazing into nothingness, as often I fail in articulation.

A mirror would bear witness that upon each daybreak
I leisurely adorn that golden symbol upon my breast,
The elemental impaction, disperses a surreal euphoria
A shivering, encompassing all my sensitized pale sheath.

At times in daily blurs, when despair consumes devotion
A kin a creeping, dense liquid in a fountain of youth
A lava consuming hope; all sent forth to linger in an abyss.
Such moments arises a burning, a calling, a chest pressing.

Instinctively I then carress each and every carat
As a mother to a baby's delicate hand, awakening within,
A heavenly life force pulsing an injection of bliss
A dreaming state; of seraph's nurtured kisses upon my soul.

In the twilight that same mirror bears witness to an indentation
Remaining once the jewel is removed from my heart.
Now I believe any further inquisition can be answered
Replying firmly; this cross is faith, guidance and love!

I'm going to work backwards on this one by Mark, because I can, and because in my last week as a judge Mark just blew me away.

To begin with the end. Faith, guidance and love are all things that we truly desire, religious or otherwise, I'm glad you have yours. Sometimes things seem bleak but your faith seems to have pulled you through.

The contents before are simply beautiful, thoughts recored in word. They give fantastic images of joy, and worry, happiness and fear, and I dare say a little misery and sadness.

    So to the beginning.

This is what truly hooked me!

To be questioned on your faith is rather shocking. Everyone has the right to choose their own. That you responded so gracefully here is the measure of you.

    Well done (10)
