They

by Matt Carroll   Nov 9, 2017

They stop and sneer, hate, judge and fear
They mock all that which you hold dear
They derive such pleasure from each tear
They long for the moment your death is near

They stand and leer, fake you're not here
They speak with words that lash and sear
They shut you out, and it becomes so clear
They never really wanted you right here

They scream and shout, there's no way out
They care not to know what you're about
They try to feed you the ignorance they tout
They won't lead you from this dismal route

They stomp and pout, hearts full of doubt
They lack compassion, dignity, and clout
They fail to see how, to hope you're so devout
They all will fall while you withstand the drought
