Silence

by Victor   Jan 29, 2018

Do you see what I see?
Truth is an offense
You're silenced for your confidence

Do you hear what I hear?
Doors are slamming shut
Limit your imagination, keep you where they must

Do you feel what I feel?
Bittering distress
Who decides what you express?

Do you take what I take?
Endurance is the word
Moving back instead of forward seems to be absurd

Do you fear what I fear?
Living properly
Truths to you are lies to me

Do you choose what I choose?
More alternatives
Energy derives from both the plus and negative

Do you need what I need?
Boundaries overthrown
Look inside, to each his own

Do you trust what I trust?
Me, myself and I
Penetrate the smoke screen, I see through the selfish lie

Do you know what I know?
Your money and your wealth
You're silenced just to hear yourself

Do you want what I want?
Desire not a thing
I hunger after independence, lengthen freedom’s ring

Will you be what I am?
Enlightened and aware
Of the injustice, always happening here

Will you come with me now?
Escape this wretched place
Be our own beings, never return here again

    Judging comment:

Freedom and Independence are two things which we are born with but, somehow, denied in this world today; and knowing that there is something missing that you need to attain which will involve going against too many people takes courage but is nonetheless, necessary. The way you have drafted your poem, the verses, it adds the tinge needed to invoke the feeling of the wrong being done and the need to rise against it or escape from it. I highly praise your strong message. Thank you and well done.

Victor, very heartfelt. It's not easy when you feel everyone is against you. Stay strong and keep writing.
