The Lost Lambs of God

by Maple Tree   Jan 31, 2018

Upon a road of uncrossed tears
fighting infections of endless words,
struggling pastors with deaf ears
embrace violence with invisable swords.

Teaching babes to hate each other
casting fear unto fallen leaves,
call girls run from fellow brother
gripping humanity by torn sleeves.

Nails decay as wind chimes whistle
as winters chill continues to blow,
ladies adorned with rotten thistle
lost, little lambs with nowhere to go....

............................

For Bird and all her lost Ladies
I love you!

This poem touched my heart deeply bringing home truths often buried beneath our consciousness. Humanity is capable of so much good yet so many once innocent lives are beset with such struggles. The visuals are heart wrenching and remind us of a world that most of us never want to see. An important piece that reminds us of those lost lambs of God more often or not left with no place to go.

This gave me shivers and brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for writing a poem for the women who are too often overlooked, forgotten, or treated as less than human.
