Guilt

To be cruel to the one who gave me faith
that the world (patched and stained in reddened black)
was perhaps not as painful as it seemed:
it's you I injured again, after all -

I set the fire that burnt and haunted us
into blurred shadows that fade like ashes

all the way to oblivion.
