Wretched

by Kitty Cat Lady   Apr 2, 2018

Don't come at me with your cheerful
My wretched has settled in
I've just about got the hang of it now
It's properly under my skin

I'm comfortable with this feeling
It's hard to send it away
I don't want to let go just yet
I'll wallow for another day

I'll seek my strength tomorrow
I'll fake it till its true
But today my friend is misery
And we're all the shades of blue.

    Miss Kitty,

yet another great piece of rhyming from you, with a very 'blue' tone all through sadly!
    Much love
    Michael:)x

I love the first line, Kitty.

It is full of contempt; spat out with anger, but...

as the poem continues, it mellows somewhat, simmering down to a moderate realisation that this 'blue' period is just that, a period in time.

Nice work and good flow throughout.
