The Flip Side

by Kitty Cat Lady   May 2, 2018

Love is territorial
And jealousy signals the threat
The louder your heart cries "Danger!"
The bigger the emotional debt

Fear will expose the ugly truth
You want to have and to hold
If your heart didn't already tell you
This is how your mind will be told

An unreasonable feeling will surface
It's been lurking deep in your pit
Twisting you with paranoia
Spewing words you didn't permit

The very thing you long to keep
You risk driving far away
Roll the dice and place your bets
This is love ... do you want to play?

Hell no... Love can be so beautiful yet so heart wrenching can't it. I have sworn to myself if this relationship doesn't last (near 13 months now) then I going to die a spinster hahahaha fantastic piece

Love this poem Kitty - I can relate to it so much especially the ‘twisting you with paranoia’ line. It’s a wonder any of us play with consequences like these ;-)
