Gaffa Tape

by CJ Maleney   Aug 6, 2018

I've used this stuff for many years,
It's mostly silver or it's black.
It's been an easy short term fix,
But longevity it does lack.

You merely delay the inevitable,
And you hope the bodge will work.
You wouldn't accept such from a tradesman.
A true repair you dodge and shirk!

You can put a plaster on a wound or cut,
But it doesn't last and it won't fix,
The wound needs more attention
Before infection takes a grip.

The gaffa tape that holds you together
Is starting to lose adhesion.
Your brain is rattling around your skull,
You are starting to loose cohesion.

Things can be healed and sorted out,
So can your heart and mind.
Stitch them up and take care of them,
In the end you'll be just fine.

It perhaps often won't feel like this
But healing needs a little place to start
So use your duck tape and your band aid
As a quick fix for your heart

I know it's proper name is duct tape but there is a brand called duck tape. Although I've not seen it in England. I used duck as it simply appealed more.

My messed up little mind probably thinks there is a special tape just for ducks :-)
