Tomorrow

(a poem by Larissa van Heerden)

***TOMORROW***

Hopes and dreams
Lie in this place called tomorrow

There I will open my eyes to the familiar
To that same routine.
For that
One.
Last.
Time.

Tomorrow!
I am walking out.
Tomorrow!
I am walking in.

Invested heart.
Invested soul.
Invested mind.
Time.
Into a sole purpose.

Tomorrow!
I am walking out
Tomorrow!
I am walking in.

I unclasp my fists
Open them to let go
Open.
I release my shoulders
Now I take a deep breath
Exhale.

Tomorrow!
I am walking out
Tomorrow!
I am walking in.

Love the energy in this piece and the repeated chant that promises you will try and at least be present, no matter what tomorrow throws at you. When you mentioned routine, I also thought this is almost a re-discovery of life, being able to inhale and exhale and truly feel our spirit. To know we're not just stuck in the same pattern.
