Like Adonis blue

Veneer, a lustre brilliant
Always my honoured guest…
Long, long ago when
Every man would want my piece of gold
November turned an icy chill
Then sickness took a hold
I stole your effervescence
Now frozen for all time
Even here in death, forever you’ll be mine.
