Hi, I'm you're hot friend, the Sun!

Hi, I’m you’re hot friend, the Sun!

I’m no respecter of anyone, I shine upon all, the big, the little, and, the small. I can be a blessing, or a curse, much is spoken about me in the Bible, in many a verse.

You don’t have to fly to Margaritaville to have fun with me, I love to lick skin on those packed beaches. Not crazy about the lotions, but, if not used, my searing touch, will cause some bad emotions.

As I hang in space, those pesky clouds sometimes hide my face, but, at night, my pal, the Moon will reflect my light, much to your delight.

My power is very great, the envy of the world, I keep my distance just right, any closer, I would devour everything in sight. My furnaces burn constantly, millions of degrees of heat is no problem for me, only my Creator outshines me.

Please don’t stare at me, even when it’s cloudy, some did, and, no more, do they see. The Lord did put me, as a dim representation of himself, no man can stand in his brightness, and, live.

Now, I will bid you a goodnight, sleep tight, see you in the morning, with my first light.

This poem is playful, and has a nice rhythm to it. There are two words that I don't feel fit in though,
emotions in line 6 and representation in line 13.

Haven't heard from you in a while, thought I'd pop in. :)

Hey! Good to hear from you! When I penned those two words, I had in mind when Jesus took his Disciple's up a high mountain, and was transfigured, and, he shown brighter than the Sun. Moses and Elijah (The Law & the Prophet), when the totally awe-struck Disciples saw this, they wanted to build Shrines for Moses and Elijah, but, a voice from Heaven spoke saying; This is my beloved Son, listen to him! Always appreciate your professional critique, missed you!
