Wishing Tree

by Mortal Utopia   Jun 15, 2019

So here we hang
on the wishing tree:
tied so lovingly (written
a little shakily).

You and me,
among the dangling
and clanging
of imagined tomorrows -
like the joys of a Christmas Tree.

The 'get well soon's,
the borrowed times,
the silent blanks,
the indecipherable symbols
all swaying and swaying

like a prayer in the wind.

I wish I had a nomination left. Alas, you will have to make do with my hearty praise!

    This is excellent.
