Love Will Find a Way

by Milly Hayward   Jul 23, 2019

My night is dark, no love to give me light
though moonlight glimmers on the distant shore
Faint hope to light a pathway from my plight
return love's essence to this troubled door

The tide is full, waves thrust upon the beach
across the bay they form a wall of stone
A cold intent to keep love from my reach
has struck my lovers heart and now my own

If I could muster just one message clear
through wind and crashing seas, a grating cry
'Twould echo through the world for all to hear
In love there is no sense nor reason why.

You are the light that shines across my soul
that leads me back to you, my treasured goal

Thank you Walter, I find them quite difficult to write because I am not good with metaphors but I am trying my best. Milly x

Thank you Brenda for your nomination.
It really made my day. I'm just finding my feet with sonnets so am still experimenting with metaphors. Thank you Mark and Leonie really glad you liked it. Milly x
