This one way road to nowhere
feeds your narcissistic need
In a place where we should share
you are selfishness and greed

You always have your own way
regardless of how I feel
This happens most every day
your message is clear and real

There is no love in your heart
for anyone else but you
I thought perhaps at the start..
but twas fakery you knew

So now I've learnt a lesson
all that glitters is not gold
With time this pain will lessen
but I will be thus consoled

For in life I'm always blessed
as I know how best to share
You will always be distressed
that your life is never fair

I'm deaf to all your reasons
they are winds blown in the past
Thus ends this our love's season
its died finally at last

Glad to read your comment below, Milly, as I was concerned reading this. Anyway, well done and I too am glad to see it nominated.

Milly this is brilliant and if Mark hadn't nominated it, I would have. It speaks directly to me and mirrors my current upset. The fast pace and rhyme relays the anger perfectly! :-) x

Not a poem about me but inspired by someone else's truth.
