1920's Snowflake

by Maple Tree   Dec 2, 2019

Snowflakes fall like feathers
during chaotic winds, landing
upon my broken body as if to heal
wounds that bind me.

Laced under dark clouds is a beauty
so enchanting that it looks like a 1920's
ballroom, dangling chandeliers and midnight
champagne.

Euphoric hallucinations cloak me in a ballgown
designed with intricate bead work,
all I can do is spin around the dance floor with
my lover.

Howling breezes blow- I realize I'm buried in a snow suit
adorned with fur lined boots- beautiful in the visions
that overtake this reality; if only for a minute.

Woooooah I am truly in love with this part!!
I haven’t read something like this from you for a while now, although the poem is chilly it has warmth in it. I feel hope and optimism coming from it. Like a blank page ready for a new chapter.
I maybe completely off, but I love this!!

Beautiful picture created with your words. I have only seen snow once.. it’s beautifully cold lol. I didn’t get the chance to dance as snowflakes fell. :( may be some day. In the mean time, I like how your poem transported me to that scene.
