Invocation (Rondeau)

by Michael   Dec 10, 2019

..so hear my plea, of mans misdeed,
to help our world, no more to bleed.
Our atmosphere, hangs by a thread
and fire will rise, and quickly spread.
The sun bears signs, for us to heed

What is a world, of rich and greed
if nothing thrives, to plant new seed.
We must act now, to halt the dread
...so hear my plea.

Polluted air, comes forth to feed
and mother earth, will soon concede.
No paths or roads, shall lie ahead
and life will be, just left for dead
A place no more, no place to breed
...so hear my plea

    Judging Comment:

The ratio of us exploiting our beautiful planet, is much higher than the acts we’re trying to make fixing others mistakes. It’s a never ending issue. I love the line “...so hear my plea”. This is why when formed poetry meets an important topic which is well expressed, it becomes really powerful and leaves a strong impression!!

Congratulations in the win. Well deserved. Rondeau’s are my favorite form of poetry then sonnets then Terza Rima.
It’s not easy to write it but it sure is fun to do it.
Thank you for sharing specially for the message given. I’m guilty of not recycling :(.

Michael, send this to the bloody white house, good man! Not sure it will do any good, but it may be worth a try, lol
As I've said before, you seem to have mastered this form, and this, like your others, is a pleasure to read.
Well done and all the best as ever,
    Ben
