napowrimo 3 - Minutes

by Sunshine   Apr 5, 2020

It's almost midnight at my side
only few minutes keep me away from tomorrow
I didn't want you to slip from my words again
so I rushed myself and penned you down
just like you were my algebra homework.

I never liked numbers,
you know?
They're mostly used to cheat,
just like you.

It's almost tomorrow
only few minutes keep me away
from another day to waste on slamming you.
So I rushed myself and penned you down,
an endless chain of poems
secretly lamenting over you.

Heartbreaking. There are things I randomly write about at night, and erase in the morning, because they're just bad memories. I saw myself in this poem, counting the minutes until the sun shines because the night brings up those memories.
