Restless memories

by Michael   Dec 1, 2020

during
those long
nights, now
passed

I
remember
how you would help
to break the mould in
my mind before
you slept

now that you’ve gone

I lay awake, in a sleepless
hunting ground

yearning
your presence
your touch

which I know is out
of reach

and now
my eyes are forever
wounded

for the beauty of
my insomnia was watching you,
when you slept
