Audio

He left us a recording
with a voice that made us cry
And though he hadn't planned it out
It seemed he knew he'd die

He thanked us all for listening
And for helping him along
It seemed he had so much to say
But didn't have too long

He mentioned that he loved us
then he rambled on some more
About the plans he'd set up
All the things he had in store

And though he'd never get to them
Never finish all the rest
We could never fault him for it
Cause we knew he tried his best

Sending all of my support. The ending lines made me choke up a bit, because I feel there can often be anger and hurt pointed at the ones we lose. We may be critical or seek answers and want explanations. And while emotions usually have to be felt to be processed, you know he tried his best. And really, what more can be asked of us? There's a sort of peace and acceptance in that. That's what should matter the most. It's admirable and shows his strong spirit that he did his best, seemed to give it his all. Having that audio, having some part of him, I hope, will help heal over time.

I'm sorry for your loss. To have this recording now and this person is now gone, heartbreaking.
