If you take out all the anger
And you lay it on your skin
Do you think your friends would notice
All the pain that lies within

Would they try to ease the sorrow
As it eats straight to your core?
Would they simply leave you lying
Slumped and aching on the floor?

If the poison on the inside
Made its way into your words
Slashing at your friendships
Like a double edged sword,

Would you try to suck the venom
From the wounds your voice has made?
Is it better to console friends
Say it's better off this way?

If they cling to you while bleeding
Would you let them slip away?
Does it matter so completely
What the words in your head say?

Would you limit your existence
To the space between four walls
Ignoring bills and letters
and those few who try to call

If you find your soul escaping
Would you dare to call it back?
Would you simply watch in wonder
As it glides between the cracks?

Have you given up so quickly?
I'll admit I am the same
My memories are foggy
And I can't recall my name

I'm aware that we're both fighting
Is it better to let go?
Lay out all the hurt inside
So everybody knows?

Somehow I don't know the answers
To the questions that I ask
Yet I feel a sense of comfort
Knowing nothing here will last

If you answer my inquiries,
Share solutions, if you please
For I'm sure that in the future
You'll be much wiser than me

I will drift among the wreckage
I created of my life
But I hope the end for you will prove
Things can turn out alright.

I think asking for help during our darkest moments is one of the hardest things to do. All the advice says you should, but when it comes to it, you're so scared of being rejected, making the original situation even worse, that you just hide away until people stop trying. It's an awful cycle. I say, ask for help and that's when you find your real supporters. :-) x

Lovely rhyming poem that has a nice flow. Words can cause so much pain, but they can heal too! I guess if we get the ratio right, we can say what we need whilst holding on to those who close to us.
