Quiet Hallow

by Maple Tree   Mar 24, 2021

If sun comes for me
with arms wide open,
moon will toss this broken
heart
around the room; waltzing.

I dance with darkness
as lips sing a harmony
from past lives and loves.

Walking away within a wind storm
allows some freedom from sorrow-
apologies within tree limbs shroud
me from reality, just for a moment;

demonic heartbeats come out at 3 am
and I start spinning
again.
