This packs a punch I could have never imagined.... I think I'm swimming in Sahara tears.

Oof, I wasn't expecting that sadness! This reminded me of the betta fish I used to have. It wasn't until years later that I realized the gallon tank I had was barely enough for it to survive. That it needed more, and I was told it was okay , when it really was the bare minimum to keep it alive. I hadn't done enough research and that was on me to care for it.

I saw your piece as metaphor for us as humans, walking around, driving to nowhere, just hoping to forget the past. It can become too painful to process emotions, so we just wander and keep ourselves busy, always on the move, to never confront the hurt.

    This was quite powerful!

Yes, you are right with your idea. Like fish we often can't find a way out, so we repeat a process just hoping to forget. In water, tears vanish as fast as they do in the Sahara, but that pain will always remain unseen.

      Thanks for your comment. :)
