Little Pricks

by CJ Maleney   Mar 29, 2021

Humility is for the weak!
To hide behind a cross for the pious.
To stand before your flag,
Is to be both brave and it is rightous.

Will you accept all that you are told?
To comply without a single doubt?
Or will yot voice "this is wrong"?
And for the voiceless will you shout?

You were born to be a man or woman,
And in that you have your strength!
So will you bow like a slaughtered cow,
And your will you doth bequeath?

Or will you stand and raise your voice?
To let them you know you will be heard,
To say this my ancestors land,
And this right as such is earned.

Will you confront what stands in front,
Or will you cower and will you hide?
Would you put yourself to the torch?
So that others may survive?

This is not a story from history!
Because this is exactly where you are!
But if you take that jab then pick the scab,
It's burrowed in too far.

I think I would rather take my chance.
Though I may perhaps become quite ill.
But if this thing does deny me life,
It has not denied free will.

Thanks Michael, it's not and not an opinion shared by many. Seems we have become a nation of sheep.

      Regards
