2021 NaPoWriMo #6

by M. Rene'   Apr 6, 2021

I found your lilies

and your roses
and the sunflowers too.
Pressed between pages
of coffee stains and
half-finished poetry

holding on to the
doodles you drew
by a fading thread -

I found the garden
of wishes you left for me
but refused to learn
how to hold on for
yourself - your future.

The lilies still
ask about you
and the roses
have forgotten
how to love.

The sunflowers,
found a new home
in my windowsill.

This is perfect. It's beautiful and delicate, despite the sadness. Nominated!
