Alienation

by Em   Apr 17, 2021

Staring out the window I see the springtime flowers bloom
yet deep within this prison, I call my mind, it's only full of gloom -
people may see me smiling and they think that I am dandy, fine, okay,
yet, I wake up feeling disgusted with yet another estranged day.
I'm sick to death of masquerades and it being just me, myself and I -
for surely if you had no friends you'd just want to die?

Nice title, Em. This really does drum home the fact that you feel on the very fringe of your world. I can't even imagine what this must be like. Thank you for sharing a little window into your world. I hope thing get better. xx

Nice rhyming poem from you, Em. People often expect others to be full of seasonal cheer around this time, but it isn't always that simple, is it? A little more consideration and compassion, and perhaps we would more universally be better able to enjoy the sun that much more.

    Take care
