Poor little kitten (Syntuit string)

Curiosity
chased a feather towards a

soon-to-be... roadkill

Boldly death was held
behind a dam of granite:

eight more lives to go

* Yesterday I was walking my dogs when I saw a young child. He was stood by a parked car, near a road junction. I thought this strange as I could not see his parents. A lady in a passing car had also seen him and called to me in concern. As I walked towards him, he walked, worryingly, the few steps into the path of an on-coming car. It was then that I had to act. I stepped forward and held my hand up towards the car and shouted STOP! The car saw me and stopped just a few feet from the little boy. I picked him up in my arm and walked to the other side of the road. As I and the lady, who had shown concerned, talked about what to do, another lady was walking down the road of terrace houses towards us. It turned out that the little boy had been staying at his grandmothers and had wandered out of her front door and onto the public footpath while her back was turned. He had managed to walk some 200 meters to the junction where we had seen him. I really do not know what would have happened if no one had intervened. The incident shocked me to the core and so I decided to write about it.

Oh my goodness, just reading about it my heart was in my mouth so to be there would have been shocking but good on you for acting so quickly. I absolutely love how you use metaphors to explain this situation here though, I'm just glad the little boy is OK =(
    Take care x

You must be absolutely shaken. Things like that you just have to be relieved that he - and you - were lucky enough that you got there in time - and well done for that!
