Untitled 1

by The Parrott King Jordan R. Stephens   May 21, 2021

As the sun sets people scurry,
making their way;
Parking lot frenzy smiles,
Those intent on keeping themselves tightly knit.
You’ll never know who you’re smiling at.
You’ll
Never know.

Friends speak, friends smile
Lifting you up on flimsy strings,
They love you but
It’s easy enough to lie
About how heavy you are.

Where did time go?
Ambulances fly by,
Every day they keep you awake
But they never come for you
Despite your heartbreak.
