A Sonnet About Hockey

Why should I write a sonnet just for you?
When Hockey players will be on TV?
Imagine all the crew just skating through
Like football players but in ice so free

The game is hard and a bit too extreme
Where some can bump into the other lot
To make them lose control while fans just scream
Or cheer as players lose teeth and what not

The game can be a bloody mess in white
So cold as players fight to get the puck
straight to their adversary’s goal at sight
Just to secure a win and may be luck.

Except I don’t like Hockey you must know
Thus here it is this sonnet, here you go

    How long did this take you!? It feels like it was written with such ease lol. I love random prompts on Reddit. I've never watched hockey but was invited to a couple of games and declined. I do not think I could handle the loud fans and chaos of it haha. Anyways, well done!

      How long? I think like an hour… ? Let’s see, I started writing it at night when I was putting my daughter to sleep. Thirty minutes went by, between writing and telling my daughter it was time to sleep, and I was half way through the poem. I then slept. Lol I woke up and I finished it. So I’m not exactly sure. But it’s between an hour and two.
